Veluchami is a macho man and everybody in the village fears him for his rude and offensive talks but Veluchami is good at heart and helpful to needy. Ramakrishna, an orphan comes in search of a job in this rural community. Ramakrishna is appointed as postman in this village. Kamakshi, Vellatai's daughter initially misunderstands Ramakrishna and have tiffs with him. Vellatai, Veluchami's elder sister insists on him to have his livelihood. Vellatai wishes to arrange Veluchami and Kamakshi's marriage but villagers oppose the same and insults Veluchami. Notwithstanding the insult, Veluchami promises to prove himself.
