Vintage King and Grand Seiko watches come with the famous Gold Medallion which means wearing one wears the medallion down ruining the value of the watch. As a solution one can install a transparent caseback that not only allows you to preserve the original caseback but as a bonus you get to view these beautiful movements from the golden era of mechanical Seiko watches.
My KS 4502 recently got one and in this video we will install it and see if it was worth it.
The King Seiko 4502-7001 features the manual wind 4502 movement that has an instant date change at midnight, beats at 36000 bph making it a true Hi-Beat watch and was the only movement Seiko ever made that was certified as an observatory chronometer and sold to the public. This movement was used in Grand Seiko 4520 (no-date) and 4522 (date) models as well.
