A born-again Christian mother is suing her child's school, after her four-year-old son was 'forced' to take part in an LGBT parade.
Izzy Montague, 38, is taking Heavers Farm Primary School in South Norwood to court after claiming she was told by the school's head her son could not opt out of the June 2018 event.
In the first legal case of its kind, the mother has said she wants her child to "receive an education, rather than an indoctrination."
Tim Dieppe from Christian Concern agrees with the mother's action, saying "this about indoctrination and sexualisation of very young children".
Last week the Church said it would bless same-sex civil marriages for the first time, but its position on gay marriage has not changed and same-sex couples will still be unable to marry in churches.
The Bishops of the Church of England also wrote a letter formally apologising for the “shameful” times LGBTQI+ people have been “rejected or excluded”.
The issue was raised in an urgent question in the House of Commons, and a number of MPs spoke out against the Church’s position, but others warned against compelling the Church to take a particular stance on the issue.
