This Ouchita River Rec Area and summer cool off spot instantly made my top 5 swim holes in AR list! Located about 8 miles north of Mount Ida, River Bluff is #37 on our swim hole map (link below)

Google maps will indeed bring right to this small rec area, which is a US Forest Service maintained spot. While you do have 7 miles of dirt/gravel to drive along to get here, it's nothing that would be too challenging for any 2WD vehicle.

This is a day use area only, with a few picnic spots and shaded areas, along wit a vault toilet for a bathroom facility. I gave this one a 'yellow' symbol on the map but only because of the short little bank scramble do descend to get to the water.

This was our 5th swim hole stop for the day, and it ended right here. The water is plenty deep enough to swim in, and it's an easy wade out to get to the realllly deep parts. Several of the other places we'd checked out earlier in the day weren't dog-friendly, so Super Leeds was one happy doggie here today.

After taking a few pics and clips for the map & this video, I splashed on in for a while too. This is a five star swim hole in my opinion.... it's out of the way, far enough along gravel roads, and secluded enough to not be easily reachable. I'm sure locals hang out here often, I sure would. Credit where due to any and all who have visited this spot recently - it was amazingly trash free! If you visit, help keep it that way!
