In 2023, artificial intelligence (AI) is in the news and spotlight more than ever before. But for inclusive finance, AI-powered innovations have been reshaping the sector for years to level the economic playing field for the historically underserved and marginalized. This global plenary will first take quick stock of those innovations and their transformative potential then pivot quickly into examining how the inclusive finance ecosystem is faring in ensuring that AI is deployed responsibly. Our discussion will include voices from across the AI and inclusive finance ecosystem and will touch on what tech, policymakers, donors, impact investors, and consumers are doing and should do so that AI ultimately delivers on its promise for inclusive finance.
