Here are some interesting Modane Line trains that operated to and across the French / Italy border.
The first uses my last FS loco with a type G motor- my Lima E633. This is one of the first models where Lima really started maturing, and producing hobby level models. I modified this one with LEDs, and made it look as nice as possible. I spent so much time on it, I decided to keep it in the long term. It isn't hugely powerful, and rides slightly high, but good to keep for old times!
Its train is as follows:
1x Jouef Corail VU brake coach (this is from the 1st batch of Corails- it was upgraded from an order for UIC-Z brake coaches, and were not air conditioned). The Jouef model isn't too bad, but slightly over simplified. However, I use it as luckily it rides at exactly the same height as my Lima Corails. My similar Mougel coach (which is a better model) rides too high!
2x Lima Corail VTU
1x Roco Eurofima

The second train contrasts with the uniform Corail coaches! My Riva E632 is hauling a mixed rake of UIC-X and Tipo 59 coaches on a regionale to the border.
The consist is:
Riva Tipo 59 B (grey)
Roco UIC-X 64 AB (rosso fegato)
Riva Tipo 59 B (grey)
Riva Tipo 59 B (rosso fegato)
Riva UIC-X 70s series (rosso fegato)
It is similar to the train here, but I do not have the full brake Tipo 59 [ Ссылка ]
Finally, the new order. From 1996, BB36000 Astride locos appeared on the line. I'm not quite sure whether it could have appeared with the rakes above, but it certainly provides a contrast. It is hauling a freight showing off my newly collected rake of concertina roofed aluminium wagons- been looking for some of those for ages!
