22 minute colour film produced by the German Democratic Republic Ministry of Trade to promote MZ motorcycles to foreign markets, with English language narration. Undated.
ISDT footage shows MZ, BMW, Bultaco, Fantic, KTM, Husqvarna, Maico, Ducati & Zundapp national /factory entries competing. A short background sound-track on loop gives the BMW ( a prototype R80 ? ) a two stroke sound.
BMW returned to the ISDT for the 1979 event in Stegskopf, east of Bonn, West Germany after an absence.
Note also the absence of any mention of the MZ factory road racing history. Possibly connected to the activities of one E. Degner with the Suzuki company.
Walter Kaden, the factory mechanics, the road racing and ISDT team riders, and all of the factory workers deserve to be remembered.
