The Center for Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Imaging in Vivo Physiology is a consortium of institutions working to invent in Vivo imagers. The Center partners include: University of Chicago, University of Denver, University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne and the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry. The researchers are developing EPR spin probes that report oxygen concentrations and image reconstruction techniques to provide images of near absolute oxygen concentrations in living animals with potential human application. This unique oxygen imaging technology is being used experimentally to track and treat cancer and other diseases and conditions.
