🏰 Castling is a king move. Always start by moving your king two squares toward the rook, then place the rook on the other side of the king.

❌ castling is not allowed if you’ve already moved the king
❌ castling is not allowed using a rook that has already moved
❌ castling is not allowed when your king is in check
❌ castling is not allowed if your king has to pass through a check

✅ in most games you want to castle
✅ castle on the side of the board where you have the least moved pawns.
✅ castling helps protect the king and activate the rook
