These new technologies coming out with unreal engine are great, don't get me wrong...
but so many people are sick of the games running like garbage, because not everyone is rocking dual 4090's and can handle all of those things pushing the limits.
the new advancements are powerful things, but that power HAS to come from somewhere. and it will affect your games performance...
disabling them may affect visual fidelity a bit, but there are things we can do to offset that visual cost, while also getting a huge boost to performance.
whenever you're wondering which is more important for your game when it comes to graphics or performance, it is ALWAYS performance.
graphics are important, but not nearly in the way most games seem to prioritize. most computers can handle pretty advanced graphical feats these days, but we still need to optimize. if we aim for a beautiful game on medium specs, then we can open the door to more people playing, and for the people with beefier machines they can still take advantage of graphical updates.
