Founded:
The Department started in 1969 as the then Government Information Service (GIS) of St.Vincent and the Grenadines. In 2001, it was transformed and renamed as the Agency for Public Information (API) under then Director, Mr. St. Clair Jimmy Prince
Mission Statement:
To advise on the formation of Government Policy as regards public relations and information, and to implement such a policy effectively in collaboration with Government Departments, Agencies and the wider community by dissemination of information on Government's plans and activities as well as other national development issues to as wide a public as possible both at home and abroad.
Vision Statement:
To be the main artery for the dissemination of current information related to Government Policy, programmes and matters of public interest; custodian of said information through a modern, well equipped unit and a team of trained professionals; to be the focal point for matters related to the broadcasting in St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
