The Navy has now sailed into Mallacoota in Victoria ready to evacuate tourists and locals who want to leave.
The process of choosing who will go is underway, but the earliest anyone will be leaving is 7 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Those who stay will be on alert for worsening conditions tomorrow and Saturday with authorities warning that fires could re-ignite.
