You can apply for a UK Visitor Visa if you are a foreign person who wants to go to the UK for a short while to see friends and relatives. You can usually stay in the UK for up to 6 months. The notification email should include the reasons why your application has been refused. It may also end with a warning that if the circumstances that led to the refusal haven’t changed, any future applications are likely to be rejected.

If you find yourself in this position it may still be possible to be approved for a UK Visitor Visa. The first step is to address any of the specific points raised in your refusal notification. You should also try and provide as much evidence as possible to illustrate you have taken action on the points they raised.

Your application may have been rejected based on insufficient proof of funds. This can be addressed by providing a bank statement showing evidence of the necessary money to support yourself with your reapplication.

It’s important to remember that your chances of success will decrease with every application that is refused. This makes it essential you comprehensively address the reasons given for the refusal before you submit your reapplication.

In some cases, you may feel that your application rejection was unfair. In this case, it may be possible to appeal the decision. Applicants already in the UK have 14 days to appeal the decision, those overseas have 28 days.

If you feel the refusal broke UK immigration laws you can also ask for a judicial review. This can take longer than an appeal and is usually only used as a last resort.
