Narcissists have some talents, they can rage with the best of them, gaslight like no other, and give the silent treatment for years! However, one thing the narcissist does no better than anyone else is lie. Narcissists Always Lie And That's The Only Thing They Are Good At! Are narcissists good liars? Yes! The narcissist is an expert at pathological lying because lying for them is literally about survival. Narcissists are pathological liars to protect against shame. The narcissist lives a lie in a fantasy world they have created. They must lie to protect being found out about who they truly are. The narcissist lies about everything so that you never really know what is real and what is not. This allows them to gaslight easier and manipulate your reality through their lies. Not all lies means they are gaslighting, but the lies help them gaslight easier. The pathological lying narcissist knows that they have the upper hand and this is signs of an abusive relationship. When narcissists always lie, you start to doubt yourself and this wears away at your self-esteem. Narcissistic abuse is draining emotionally and mentally and is part of a toxic relationship. If you think your boyfriend always lying, or anyone else, is affecting your mental health, this is a chance for you to look at what changes you can make. Narcissism and lying go hand in hand because narcissists are liars and cheaters. They have low self-esteem and need to use others to feel good about themselves. The narcissist lies all of the time to protect the fantasy world they have created. When a narcissist lies, they are deflecting from narcissistic injury and this is how they regain control. Why does he lie so much? Because he needs to as a way to survive!
