California woman Cindy Gilbert was riding through Huntington Beach last Thursday when a metal guard (main) - purportedly from JetBlue flight 1416 - 'literally fell from the sky' just a few feet from where she was riding. The plane had left Long Beach - just 15 miles northwest - when one of its engines exploded not long after takeoff, filling the cabin with smoke (top right) and causing the oxygen masks to be deployed. Four of the 142 passengers on board were injured. The piece of the aircraft was collected by the Federal Aviation Administration and is being examined. JetBlue have not confirmed whether the metal guard is from flight 1416.
