The new Goethals Bridge opened on the afternoon of Saturday, June 10th, 2017, nearly 90 years after the opening of the original Goethals Bridge. On opening day, we take a drive across the new Goethals Bridge into Staten Island and New York. We cross within the first hour of the opening of the New York-bound lanes.
