Yesterday Meon where back again attending the annual LGTAG - Local Government Technical Advisers Group Presidential Conference at Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher, Surrey.
This year focussing on: People, the Key Highway Asset – Find them, train them, keep them.
During the day there were some great thought-provoking discussions from key influential speakers, including Richard Holden MP, Minister for Roads and Local Transport around the benefits of increasing diversity within the sector, including;
✔️ How to change the image of the Highways Industry to demonstrate to students from an early age that it is an industry with significant opportunities for training and advancement, and;
✔️ How to provide training and growth opportunities for existing staff to keep them motivated, skilled and wanting to stay in the industry.
