I recently did my 2017 NAS build running FreeNAS as a completely virtualised solution with hardware pass-through ([ Ссылка ]) but you may be interested in some more of the areas in greater detail. This video looks in much more detail at how I went about configuring VMWare ESXi 6.5 for FreeNAS 9.

In this video I look at how to get a fresh install of VMware ESXi up and running and joined to your active directory, sorting out the Realtek 8110 network card so that it works with ESXi and enabling and configuring hardware pass-through. If you follow this through you should have an identical setup to me ready to install FreeNAS in no time.
