Manipur Violence: A Border Security Force jawan was killed and two Assam Rifles personnel sustained bullet injuries during a gunfight with militants in Manipur’s Kakching district on the morning of June 6. Suspected Kuki militants attacked BSF troops deployed at Serou Practical High School in Sugnu at 6.35 a.m., during which constable Ranjit Yadav sustained bullet injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the Jivan Hospital in Kakching. In another incident, a Meitei woman married to a Kuki man, her son, and a relative are feared dead after an ambulance was set on fire by a mob in Imphal on June 4. The incident occurred in Imphal West’s Iroisemba area, under the jurisdiction of the Lamphel police station.
