(1 Nov 2019) Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos lined up to enter Manila's North Cemetery on Friday as the country marked All Saints' Day.
The annual tradition involves visiting cemeteries to honour the dead.
Visitors braved the heat and large crowds while carrying flowers and candles to be placed at the graves of their deceased loved ones.
Some visitors, like Ria Estrada, brought food and drinks that were special to the departed.
Estrada, who came to visit her mother's grave, said she doesn't mind the crowds on All Saints' Day.
"What you'll think about is the comfort you'll bring to the person you love", Estrada said.
Over 250,000 morning visitors already trooped to cemeteries in Manila, according to police.
Hundreds of thousands more are expected to visit until late Friday evening.
