Sometimes, the best way to communicate is simply to talk. Jersey's cancer strategy is not only important but also ambitious, with the potential to impact thousands of lives. Its goals, outlined below, are significant, but perhaps the most crucial step we can take is to connect through conversation—sharing ideas, experiences, plans, and progress. These conversations about cancer involve everyone connected to the strategy: care providers, patients, partners, practitioners, politicians, and the public. We are all affected by cancer, whether directly or indirectly, making these discussions vital. They unite us as a community, supporting one another through challenges and accomplishments. Together, we aim to improve patient experiences, clinical outcomes, and the overall cancer journey.

About the Cancer Strategy

Our vision for Jersey is to prioritise cancer risk reduction and survival by ensuring equitable, safe, and timely diagnosis, treatment, and person-centred cancer care for all Islanders.

We aim to make cancer care a top priority in Jersey and guarantee that Islanders have access to comprehensive cancer care services

The main objectives were to address the following key areas:
Reducing the risk factors for cancer
Detecting and diagnosing cancer earlier
Treating cancer better
Strengthening the cancer services on Island
Improving the patient and family experience
Improving quality of life outcomes
Advance cooperation and collaboration across different organizations on island
