A great day ride from Palmerston North, up to Taihape via the Manuwatu Scenic Route (with a number of exploritory diversions), then over the Napier Taihape Road back to Napier.


I've already said the Napier Taihpe Road is one of the best rides in New Zealand.



The Manuwatu Scenic Route is up there too. I only rode half of it because I went exploring along a number of other side roads.



You can tell it's a great ride when you see so many other bikers on the route.



The Napier, Taihpe, Palmerston North triangle would be a fantastic days ride regardless of starting point or direction. You should add it to the list of great New Zealand Rides.
