Vascular dementia, known as the second major type after Alzheimer’s, and occurs due to reduction of blood flow after events such as a stroke.
Frontotemporal dementia, is a less common type that affects temporal and frontal regions of the brain which are known to be responsible for behavioural aspects and language.
Dementia with Lewy bodies occurs due to the build up of proteins known as Lewy bodies which results in nerve blockage. Consequently affecting memory and thinking of an individual.
