Time to Depart by Lindsay Davis is the seventh of the Marcus Didius Falco mystery series. Falco helps in an investigation into thefts that turns into murders and mayhem in the wake of the expulsion of a crime lord from Rome. He nearly loses his friend Petronius due to politics and getting hired to investigate police corruption (so to speak). Also there is a child kidnapping plot involved.
This was initially published in 1995, Arrow Books published it in 1996. This edition is an ebook republication by Arrow Books.
