The Seahawk was a naval Jet fighter aircraft designed for the Royal Navy’s fleet air arm. Originally introduced to service in the early 1950s, a lot of the design work for this aircraft was based on earlier piston powered aircraft. With the pace of aircraft advancements after the Second World War, it would have a relatively short service life being replaced by more advanced types on front line squadrons in less than a decade.

Despite this, the type would gain a reputation for being reliable and elegant and seeing some combat use during the Suez Crisis. It would also find a place in the militaries of a number of other nations with some still in their service until the mid 1980s.

Join me in this video as I build and review the A.W. Sea Hawk FGA.6 plastic model kit in 1/72 scale from Airfix. This particular version comes as a starter set, but during this build I struggle to see why Airfix made the decision to release this . .
