Reducing the risks of flood events is crucial for our safety! There are various ways to achieve this goal. They go beyond technical measures and require in particular forward-looking planning and action as well as cooperation between different sectors. By implementing a mix of measures, that are adapted to regional conditions, damages can be reduced as much as possible. For the 416 areas with potential significant flood risk in Austria, corresponding programs of measures were compiled within the framework of the second flood risk management plan!
