Lesley and Richard run our Journey to Work programme and WISH employment support club, which help and support people in the District who are looking for work. Here they are to tell you more.
Journey to Work is one of the Council’s most successful employment support programmes, supporting over 500 local people back into work over a six year period.
After a short break, the Programme is back, putting local job hunters on the road to work success. Working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, the new Journey to Work programme gives unemployed people a dedicated support service with one-to-one support.
Help offered includes a CV writing service, interview practice, health and wellbeing advice and ongoing mentoring and practical support to look for jobs and work experience. Every participant’s journey is different and Journey to Work tailors activity to personal needs and has a sympathetic approach in supporting people back into the workplace.
