How to fix coked up Idle Air Controller on 2.7L petrol Toyota Hilux (Japanese made Australian model dual cab pickup RZN169)
Symptoms were
- most notably a high idle when warm (~1100 rpm)
- trouble holding idle on initial cold start, for ~10s had to hold half throttle until ECU learned 'new' engine mapping each time to compensate incorrect airflow
- slightly increased fuel usage (~15L/100km compared to 12.5L/100 normally...~20mpg vs ~15mpg).
