In memory of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, on his 84th death anniversary, we bring to you an in-depth explanation and commentary on three of his poems by Salman Asif Siddiqui.
In this video, Salman Asif Siddiqui discusses Allama Iqbal's nazm 'Rukhsat Ae Bazm-e-Jahan!' (Farewell O World's Congregation!'), a poem that is adapted from Ralph Waldo Emerson's poem, "Good-Bye". He then goes on to connect this poem with two of Iqbal's ghazals, 'Gulzar-e-Hast-o-Bood Na Beganawar Dekh', and 'Phir Charagh-e-Lala se Roshan Huwe Koh-o-Daman.' He also addresses questions and reflections from the audience.
