One of my favorite cute towns would be Saint Genevieve in Missouri. It’s one of the oldest French settlements west of the Mississippi and it has some of the oldest examples of French log 🪵 structures that you can see. It also has a large amount of pecan trees in it. Every year, I go hiking in the parks to look for the pecans and just to see the fall colors . And if I get lucky I find a whole bunch of persimmons as well.
Let show you how you pick and how you dry and store your pecans.
At the end of the video I also have photos of Saint Genevieve along with some other old buildings. Saint Genevieve is also dog friendly and has multiple cafés and restaurants along with the old fashion pubs.
If you go, I suggest you stop at the Visitors Center located in the old town for a map of the historic homes and buildings. Most of the homes you can walk to from the Visitors parking lot.
Let me know if you go!
