The Tallulah Gorge in Rabun County, Georgia, is the deepest canyon east of the Mississippi. Each year hundreds of kayakers come to the gorge for one of its seasonal water release weekends. Georgia Power opens extra gates on its Lake Tallulah Falls dam, recreating the torrential waterflow for which the gorge was known before the completion of the dam in 1913. This footage was taken on one such weekend in November 2009.
