Nigeria's Federal Government has set up a 16-member technical committee to address demands of the Labour Union. The Union suspended a strike over the recent fuel price hikes, to give room for talks. The last time the government raised fuel prices in 2012, there were similar countrywide protests, and the subsidies were partially re-instated.
