Boris Johnson faced an awkward encounter with a group of nurses in Cornwall as they grilled him over his promise to boost NHS nursing numbers. 'Do you have a nurses tree too, as well as a magic money tree?' asked one. Another, a student nurse, told the prime minister she was struggling to pay her tuition fees without a bursary. Johnson said his pledge of 50,000 additional nurses was 'fully costed'
