We are excited to continue grounding our Unitarian Universalism in Blackness during BLUU's next event in our Community Conversation series! On the fourth Wednesday of each month through September, we will host a series of discussions with one of BLUU's 7 Principles of Black Lives as the primary focus and along with featured guests who will add particular depth to the conversation! These will be Black Sacred Space in their entirety.
We are grateful to have Leslie Mac and Rosemary Bray McNatt with us for July's conversation!! Our focus will be on the 5th Principle - THRIVING INSTEAD OF SURVIVING - and we will tackle, among others, the following questions:
What feels real and relevant to you with respect to this Principle?
How have you seen Black folks’ thriving, rather than or in addition to surviving, having an impact on our faith formation and development as UUs?
What facilitates Black folks’ thriving in UU spaces and how can we support one another in making those things a reality?
How do you think this Principle can guide us in living out a Unitarian Universalism that centers Blackness?
