This time is great for one-minute to one-hour time settings and is easy to read and operate as well. Operating Instructions: Turn the timer dial all the way around and then forward to the time you want to set it for, the ringer rings for approximately for 4 seconds. This may vary. If you only set to say 5 minutes and do not go all the way around, it only rings for 1 second.

This timer works "Great" just like it was designed to work. "NO BATTERIES NEEDED". Keep those words in mind when you read the directions. My wife said the directions didn't make sense. After she read them back to me again I immediately understood them. She on the other hand still didn't. I believe this timer and its simple directions are so simple that u can easily be confused. It's almost like going back in time. We have loaded are brains with so much technology over the years just to keep up with "what's next" that this little simple timers directions go's right over are heads. I've added a video clip of the original directions from the back of the product packaging people can see what im talking about.... Now this is the way I believe the Instructions should have read INSTRUCTIONS: "THIS IS A WIND UP TIMER" NO BATTERIES NEEDED. IN ORDER TO USE THIS TIMER U MUST "WIND IT UP" EACH TIME IT'S USED. STEP #1...TURN THE DIEL CLOCK WISE UNTIL IT STOPS. STEP #2...THEN ROTATE IT BACK COUNTER CLOCK WISE TO THE DESIRED TIME U'VE SELECTED AND RELEASE. "WARNING" WITHOUT THE "FIRST STEP COMPLETED" TIMER WON'T WORK PROPERLY. This is why a lot of the reviews say there bell or buzzer won't sound off. It's because there timers aren't fully wond.
