0:16 – The Socorro Independent School District hosted their annual Employee Art Showcase at the District Service Center. SISD employees got the opportunity to showcase their creative talents on the walls at the DSC.
1:20 – Team SISD held a wellness run and walk event to help promote physical fitness across the district. Elementary P.E. classes invited parents and family members to join their students to help encourage an active lifestyle.
2:32 – Socorro ISD hosted a STEAM Night at Escontrias STEAM Academy. The school opened its doors to parents and family members showcasing what students are learning in the new Academy.
3:42 –The SISD Foundation hosted the 2022 annual golf tournament at Butterfield Trail Golf Course. The tournament raised a groundbreaking number of $170,000 for student scholarships to help further their education.
5:07 – Twelve El Paso area marching bands competed in SISD's 23rd annual March Fest at the Student Activities Complex. All Socorro ISD bands earned a division 1 rating and Americas High School won Outstanding Drum Majors and Outstanding Color Guard.
6:20 – Students at Ben Narbuth, Bill Sybert and Hueco Elementary schools all went home with a brand-new book as part of the "What kids and Communities Need" campaign. The distribution is part of American Federation of Teacher's "Reading Opens the World" literacy initiative- a 12-month cross-country tour to distribute one million books in conjunction with First Book and to support local educator-parent projects and events. AFT members distributed more than 4,000 books to SISD students
