STORYLINE:
The Turkish coast guard on Wednesday took media on a tour on the Aegean Sea on the same day that it apprehended 60 migrants trying to reach Greece.
The patrol comes as the European Union began sending back migrants this week under a deal with Turkey aimed at preventing illegal migration to Europe.
Earlier, the Turkish Coast Guard apprehended 60 people, including some Syrians, who were brought to a coast guard station in the western province of Izmir.
Returns to Turkey of migrants and refugees arriving illegally in Greece, who didn't apply for asylum or had their claims rejected, started on Monday.
In return, EU countries are to take in Syrians with legitimate asylum claims.
