With $2000 in hand, there are plenty of options to fit the job as a 'rallycrosser'. However, with a little research and a ton of help from Billy Petrow and Justin Hinman from Broken Motorsports, Ryan is able to formulate a strategy for the perfect start up project. The Subaru Impreza was known through the 90's and early 2000's as a dominate force in the World Rally Championship. Even though there are currently no full factory efforts anymore from Subaru in the WRC, they hold their own in lower-level rallies. With AWD performance and the ability to have plenty of Subaru experts on speed dial, Ryan found an '02 WRX platform to be the best choice. In Step 2 of this series, Ryan takes the WRX shell and puts pretty much an entire 2006 Subaru Impreza wagon driveline in it, making for a perfect daily driven rallycross setup, and a perfect segue into the Open Light series of Rally America in due time.
