It may be grey and wet outside but step through the front door of Bath's Victoria Art Gallery and a technicolour welcome awaits you.
The disappointing news I bring you is that the Upper Gallery won't be reopened until the spring. While work on the Grade 11* listed building's roof gets underway, the walls of the ground-floor gallery are literally coated in colour as the 119th Open Exhibition of the Bath Society of Artists gets underway. Paintings and sculptures galore to enjoy and maybe even invest in - a display of the talents of local professional and amateur artists which you can enjoy through to January 11th next year. I wanted to hear more about the exhibition and catch up on the external repairs that have involved the recent erection of a maze of scaffolding on one side of the building.
I met up with curator, Katharine Wall. Do excuse the slightly wonky filming but l am trying out a new gimbal - a device which is meant to keep my smartphone camera from shaking.
