Just a couple hours before dawn on July 1 2014, firefighters from West Command in Toronto Ontario Canada were sent to investigate reports of smoke in the Bloor Street and Islington Avenue area.
Less than a minute later, another response was sent out to investigate another report of smoke in the same area south of the original. Crews were able to follow the thick black plume of smoke against the dark night sky to the fire itself.
The fire was in a commercial building at 72 Six Point Road. A second alarm was requested while two aerial ladders were set up to knock the fire from above. Firefighters were ordered to keep their distance as a collapse of all four wall was imminent.
A 3rd alarm was transmitted bringing in more apparatus and firefighters. Tower 331 was set up as the third aerial ladder.
The fire was brought under control and crews left the scene within 6 hours.
Later in the day, a rekindle brought in a full working fire response to the same location.
