Ed Davey, of the Liberal Democrats, wrote to the EU, indicating that they would like an extension to the transition period. Michel Barnier has written back, indicating the EU is open to it. Acting on this, the Barnier bill has surfaced, seeking to force the UK government to apply for an extension, of up to 2yrs.
