Nation celebrated 164th Income Tax day on July 24. The day was introduced in 2010, marking 150 years of introduction of Income Tax in India. Income tax was introduced by James Wilson in 1860 to compensate Britishers for the losses incurred in 1857 revolt. The day aims in creating awareness around the importance of taxes and encourage more and more people to pay taxes for the development of the nation.
