Grief and pain can be an unexpected catalyst of deeper connections and empathy to those around us. By understanding and utilizing feelings of pain and empathy, it is possible to spread and teach compassion – especially within an educational setting. David Wright shares his journey and how his own loss and grief has inspired him to become a motivated and empathetic educator who is now striving to empower others to do the same. David is a well-known author, commentator, broadcaster, trainer, international speaker and media contributor. David’s interests and expertise include – Men in Early Years, Early Years pedagogy, neuroscience and trauma informed care, adoption, relationship support. David is the national representative for England to the World Forum on Early Childhood Education. He is the founder of charity Families First Southampton which works with families in need in the city.
