The Object 279 (e) is a Soviet tier 10 premium heavy tank.

Object 279 (e) - an early version of the draft design of a heavy tank of high maneuverability with a new layout scheme. The machine was designed by L. S. Troyanov in 1947–1948. The tank was supposed to use a low four-track propulsion unit mounted on longitudinal beams, which at the same time served as a tank for fuel, which greatly reduced the chance of a fire. Such decisions significantly increased the throughput and survivability of the tank and could continue to move with a damaged track. The location of the hull above the chassis allowed for the expansion of the combat compartment, which in turn made it possible to increase the ammunition and implement automation of the loading process to increase the rate of fire. In 1948, a working model was built.
