The first known image of a large group of Cross River gorillas, including adults and babies, was captured in Nigeria’s Mbe Mountains, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). Cross River gorillas are one of four subspecies of gorilla found in Africa. There are an estimated 300 of these apes left in the wild.
