Health-related disinformation and misinformation has been a threat to patient safety for centuries, but in today’s hyper accelerated media environment – and in the midst of a global pandemic -- it has taken on a new significance. When disinformation or misinformation comes from licensed physicians, it raises significant challenges for state medical boards as they carry out their mission of public protection. During this session, panelists will discuss the issue from a variety of perspectives, including potential strategies for the medical regulatory community in response.
