Johnston County has a long history of agriculture, and NC Cooperative Extension and Johnston County 4-H are assisting Johnston County youth in developing a love of farming and a desire to raise animals.

Last month, our cameras were there to catch the excitement of the annual Youth Live Stock Show and Sale. "You don't have to come from a farm family to show at a livestock show", said NC Extension Agent Meredith Wood. "This is something that truly teaches them responsibility and care of animals''.
