“St. Chroma” marks a new era of Tyler, The Creator music, acting as CHROMAKOPIA’s introduction. It formally introduces the album’s masked central character, Saint Chroma, who is featured on the front cover. This character reflects a freer side of Tyler, both artistically and mentally. However, as CHROMAKOPIA progresses, the ultimately paranoid man behind the mask comes to light.
This song was teased as “1. st. chroma” on October 16, 2024 with the reveal of the album, featuring additional vocals from Daniel Caesar. Following the brief teaser’s release, Caesar wrote to his Instagram Story:
Did some vocals on this, very proud. Can’t wait for you all to hear the whole record.
