Small Date variety The 1854 Small Date is a much tougher date than most people realize and it becomes very rare and underrated in Uncirculated.



AU58's are a very good value at around a third of the price of an MS60. As a quick aside, the 1854 through 1858 double eagles from Philadelphia are, in my opinion, extremely undervalued and are currently great values.
