Turkey has blocked access to Instagram following criticism from Turkish communications official Fahrettin Altun, who condemned Instagram for censoring condolence posts regarding the death of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) announced the decision without specifying the reason or duration of the ban. Instagram parent Meta Platforms Inc. has not commented on the issue.
